Inner Whizdom

A couple of times recently, in response to an “Are you sure?” when I’ve offered to do a favor, I’ve found myself saying, “I don’t do things that I don’t want to do!”

It sort of surprises me and pleases me to hear it. I like being that person. I’ve sometimes added, “You can trust that I mean what I say.”

I grew up in a family of second guessers and have had trouble believing that people say what they mean. We were suffering martyrs who said yes in a way that made you suspect we really meant no.

This makes me crazy.

I’m not sure that I NEVER do things I don’t want to do, but I sure like that thought. How powerful is that! Everything I do is something I’ve chosen to do. I will strive to make it so.

I had a great idea the other day. Every time I tell someone about it I get more enthusiastic.

It happened to occur on the same day that I had a conversation with a woman who has a side business called “Has God Given You A Great Business Idea?”

Sometimes my ideas cool down and I don’t follow through.  This one seems to have legs. I want to make it happen.  I’m also very excited to be partnering with my best cousin. I think we will make a great team.

2009 will be the year for our killer app, code name: Starbox.
